Getting to the Museum of Civilization (Posted October 16th, 2009)
There is a strike that
involves some Museum workers currently going on. The Festival
respects the work that is done by the staff that we work with there and
hope the two sides can come to an agreement soon. Because our event is
completely separate from Museum programming and the space has been
donated to us, Festivalgoers can freely pass the picket line. Those
who want to show their support for the workers can choose to wear a
sticker provided by the union and/or can choose not to visit the Museum
exhibits.
We recommend not parking in the Museum parking lot if there is picketing going on because they are holding up cars. There is plenty of street parking available in the surrounding area though that is most often free.
For passholders: DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON THE ALEXANDRIA BRIDGE OUR SHUTTLE SERVICE MAY BE DELAYED.
The shuttle will run as scheduled in your flipbook, until 9pm on Friday. At that point we may have to re-route over the Jacques Cartier bridge which will make the route longer. In some cases, walking may be the easiest way to get there. The Alexandria Bridge is open to foot traffic. The Museum is a 15 minute walk over the Alexandria Bridge from the National Gallery. A 30 minute walk from Arts Court or a 45 minute walk from the ByTowne.
We apologize for these inconveniences!
